An inaccurate rateable value

When Bostik (UK) Ltd approached The Rating Advisory Bureau they wanted to make a considerable reduction to their rateable value.
 
Bostik’s site was very fragmented which presented it’s own unique problems. We carried out a full investigation on behalf of Bostik. After our initial discussion and a lengthy examination, we discovered that a piece of storage land had actually been sold a long  time ago!
 
We were able to present Bostik’s appeal based on the rateable value being inaccurate because they were still paying rates on land that they didn’t own!
 
The appeal was a success, resulting in a £20,000 reduction in their Rateable
Value, with actual savings of £50,250 over the period.
